Applying Biblical Principles to Every Sphere of Life and Thought
The only source of absolute truth for mankind today is God's inerrant and authoritative written Word, which is contained in the inspired text of the Canon of the Christian Scriptures, comprising both the Old and New Testaments. The COR documents were developed in a concerted effort by Christian scholars to "search the scriptures" and discover universal biblical principles that apply today to every area of life and thought for both church and society. The documents attempt to clearly and concisely express the consensus views of a diverse group of scholars who represent a broad range of denominational backgrounds and orthodox theological viewpoints.
Part of COR's mission is to disseminate these documents worldwide in the earnest hope that men and women of God will study these documents to learn what God has graciously revealed as his loving truth for all spheres of reality. In a spirit of of love, unity, and doctrinal purity, COR invites the Christian community worldwide to read these documents and to prayerfully reflect on what they declare.
We send forth these documents to the Church at large with the prayer that they may be used by God’s Spirit to get God’s will done on earth, as it is in heaven—to whatever degree that is possible prior to the Return of Christ.
Whether you agree or disagree with what a document states, COR welcomes your insights and feedback on the documents.

The Foundation Documents
42 Articles of the Essentials of a Christian Worldview
The 42 Articles on Historic Doctrine are based on the inerrant Bible and were first written by our theologians as the theological basis on which all COR's 17 Worldview Documents were to stand. The 42 Articles distill 2,000 years of the Church’s theology in all historic denominations and offer the church a “generic statement of faith” as a guardrail against heresies and error.
A Manifesto for the Christian Church
The Manifesto for the Christian Church was developed after the 17 Worldview Documents to state where God wants the Church to stand and what actions he wants to be taken to accomplish the Great Commission at this point in history. The Manifesto was signed on July 4, 1986 in a Nehemiah-type Solemn Assembly on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial by the Steering Committee of COR and 400 delegates representing the greater Body of Christ.
Articles of Affirmation and Denial on the Kingdom of God
The Kingdom of God document was developed from 1988 to 1991 by the COR theologians to state the Biblical and historical view of the Kingdom of God. Additional information about the 25 Articles on the Kingdom of God is provided in Dr. Grimstead's brief commentary.
Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy
The Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy was ratified by the International Council on Biblical Inerrancy in 1978. This watershed document is a modern, historical statement on the view of the Bible held by the Christian Church for 2,000 years, as well as by Jesus and all the biblical authors.
Additional information about the ICBI and the Chicago Statement is provided in Dr. Grimstead's article on how the ICBI came into existence.
